CARMAFIX was incorporated in december 1993 to take-over two jewellery manufacturers Bijoux FIX created in 1823 and Leon MARTIN created in 1900.
Today, the group's 130 employees work on two production sites, both located in the center of France. One of them manufactures gold plated and silver items, is located in Guéret (Creuse region). The other manufactures solid and hollow gold jewellery in 18, 14 and 9 carats (with diamonds), is located in Saint-Amand Montrond (Cher region), known as "The City of Gold".
The group strategy is to associate high technicity and flexibility, to serve the high-end segments of the jewellery markets.
The group has its headquarters in Paris ( 75003 - 16, rue Saint-Gilles).
French distribution is essentially provided by sales representatives selling to a specialized network of retailers. The group also manufactures for some of the greatest jewellery names of the " Place Vendôme" in Paris (Hermès, Chanel, Lalique, ...).
It has a galvanoplasty lines of production which allows the company to get markets with the army and the heavy Industry, providing high technical products.
Exports currently accounts for 15 % of the turnover, which reached 11 millions Euros (70millions FRF, 10 millions $) in 2000. The major export markets are United States to retrailers (some exclusive products are sold to the first T.V. -Shopping Channel "Q.C.V."), Japan, Europe and Africa.
CARMAFIX targets a very broad clientele with its range of products, going from 15 to 30 500 Euros (100 to 200 000 FRF, 12 to 30.000 $) : its products are marketed under three brands, covering the high-end of each market-segment : gold-plated and silver, 18K gold with and witout stones.
